Postdoctoral position in embryo and seed development

The Gillmor lab at the Advanced Genomics Unit (Unidad de Genómica Avanzada, formerly known as Langebio) at Cinvestav in Irapuato is currently accepting applications for a 1-year postdoctoral position, funded by Cinvestav.
Research in the Gillmor lab is focused on early embryo and endosperm development in Arabidopsis seeds, using a combination of genetics, genomics, computational biology, molecular biology and microscopy. Candidates with expertise in any of these areas are encouraged to apply. After the 1-year period of this postdoc position funded by Cinvestav, postdocs will be encouraged to apply for further postdoctoral funding from CONAHCyT. Postdoctoral training includes a strong mentoring component, and postdocs are encouraged to present their work at international meetings. All laboratory activities are conducted in English. Former members of the Gillmor laboratory are currently employed in academic and industry positions in Mexico, the United States and Europe.
This one-year position comes with health insurance and benefits. The salary will be determined by Cinvestav guidelines, based on the applicant’s CV. This temporary position is a Mexican Federal Government position; male applicants must have completed their military service to be eligible for employment. The position is anticipated to start in February 2025.
